About the MFK
The MFK is the Swiss periodic roadworthiness test. You receive a summons by post from the road traffic office of the canton where your car is registered — not where the garage is. For a passenger car the intervals are 5 years after first registration, then 3 years, then every 2 years. Preparing the car beforehand is voluntary, but it avoids a failed test and a second fee.
Important if you bring parts from abroad
A German ABE or TÜV Teilegutachten is not binding in Switzerland. Parts that need no registration in Germany may require an official inspection here, or may not be permitted at all. We check this before fitting anything, so you do not end up with a part you cannot legally use.

Do you speak English?
Yes. We advise in English, German and Tamil. Just tell us which you prefer when you get in touch, by phone or message.
Will servicing outside a brand dealer void my warranty?
No, as long as the service follows the manufacturer's specification and is properly documented. We work to specification and record the service in your book. In a warranty claim, the documentation is what matters.
Can you prepare my car for the MFK?
Yes. We pre-check it against the official test scope, give you a written report separating mandatory items from recommendations, and repair what you decide. On request we also take the car to the test centre for you.
How dark can I tint my windows in Switzerland?
Rear side windows and the rear screen may be tinted to any level, even 5 percent light transmission, and no entry in the vehicle registration document is required. The windscreen and front side windows must transmit at least 70 percent of light, which leaves effectively no room for film.
